Henry’s Fork of the Snake River: Spring Creek, Eastern Idaho USA
14 March 2008Snake River, Henry’s Fork
This prime river is to be found in Eastern Idaho. Historically it has suffered from changing water flow rates and today it is famous for large rainbow trout. I managed to fish it once and caught trout fishing downstream dry fly. It is a limestone spring creek and is reason for good aquatic and insect life.
Angling using spinning tackle is allowed but it’s fly where the real fun is.
In the upper reaches brown trout are to be caught while below Mesa Falls rainbow trout predominate.
Access is normally quite easy and there are facilities for holidaymakers at Island Park.
